Somethin’s Cookin’ Series

Through media’s social manipulation, we are forced to inhale sexual scripts according to prescribed gender norms. As we transcend into adulthood, our sexual emotional being is questioned, limiting our choices and denying us the diverse spectrum of sexuality. Somethin’s Cookin’ is a reflection of one womyn’s personal journey. A Reclaiming of sexual identity and self-esteem misplaced from years of psychological violence. Through photography, I strive to create an awareness of the limited interpretations of gender and it’s emotional impact on individual sexual growth.
